| Q. Do you source your chondroitin from bovine or shark cartilage?
We use chondroitin derived from bovine (cattle) cartilage because sharks are being slaughtered at an alarming rate and are considered close to extinction in many parts of the world. We at DTC Health have made a conscious decision not to contribute to this travesty and instead we use chondroitin derived from cattle, which is considered a highly renewable resource in our industrialized world. Cattle are already being raised and harvested with almost nothing wasted, providing a wide range of products and by-products for human use. In addition to leather and meat and dairy products, some examples include asphalt, cosmetics, fertilizer, insulation, medicines, paint, soap, tires, piano keys, lipstick, violin strings, shoes, bone china, knife handles, vitamin capsules, photo film and, of course, chondroitin. |

FlexicosePlus® contains all of the benefits of Flexicose® plus Hyaluronic Acid (HA), extra strength Chondroitin and MSM, with all-natural sweetener, flavor and color. Q. Why liquid glucosamine over tablets or pills?
Liquid formulas, aside from being more readily bioavailable and easier to swallow, have another very important benefit. Unlike pills, liquid is absorbed as soon as it enters the stomach. It is not uncommon to have pills pass right through the body with the engraving marks still visible. Pills and capsules may cost less, but in reality you get far less absorption for your money. Liquids are also easy to administer to pets because you can simply pour it over their food. |

Flexicose® has a mixed berry flavor and FlexicosePlus® has a new-and-improved vanilla-citrus flavor. Most customers drink Flexicose® and FlexicosePlus® directly from the bottle and some choose to mix it in with their favorite beverage. The owners of DTC put it directly in their orange juice at breakfast. Our four-legged friends enjoy their "gravy" that is poured over their food or administered with a dropper/syringe. Other customers have reported success with putting Flexicose® and FlexicosePlus® in orange juice, grapefruit juice, coffee, cranberry juice, Crystal light®, soda, etc. You are free to "doctor it up" anyway you wish. Q. What type of animals can I give Flexicose® to? Are there any other ailments besides arthritis that Flexicose® can help with?
Our customers have used Flexicose® successfully with common animals such as dogs, cats and horses. We even have some pigs and other exotic pets as customers. In addition to promoting arthritis pain relief, Flexicose® promotes improved joint mobility and flexibility. It is also effective for knee, elbow and hip dysplasia, equine arthritis and osteochondrosis, to name a few. Please note: Do not feed to cattle or other ruminants. Also, not all ingredients in this product are recognized as essential nutrients by the AAFCO dog food nutrient profile. |
 |
Q. How long do I have to take Flexicose® for? Can I reduce the dosage over time?
Like a cut, your body does not heal itself instantly. Flexicose® should be taken at double the recommended dosage for the first two weeks to "jump start" cartilage repair and pain reduction. It is also safe to take double the dose of Flexicose® indefinitely, if needed. If you are experiencing relief with your current dose then there is little reason to cut back because the soothing ingredients in Flexicose® are continually keeping your joints bathed in a protective fluid and working to prevent further damage to your joints. Because you are constantly stressing and wearing down your joints, it is recommended that you continue to take Flexicose® to prevent further deterioration. |
 |
Q. Can Flexicose® cure my arthritis?
As you know, arthritis is a painful condition and unfortunately there is no cure at this time. That said, if you or your pet struggle with joint pain, Flexicose® may still do wonders for you and help ease your pain without the harmful effects of NSAIDs. A recent landmark study done by the NIH (National Institutes of Health) showed that the same kind of glucosamine found in Flexicose® was at least as effective as the NSAID Celebrex, with far fewer side effects.

Q. Does Flexicose® need to be refrigerated?
It is suggested that you refrigerate Flexicose® after opening. Prior to opening, it can be stored at room temperature. Please be advised that some settling will occur when taking FlexicosePlus®. Please shake well before each use.
